Tripps Restaurant

My wife and I are regulars at this restaurant. Been going for over a decade! Jim Wilson is the participating/Manager and our favorite server is Charlotte. There is prime rib special on Wednesdaya, but my favorite dish is the flounder and shrimp plate with hand cut fries. The portion is huge and the price is $16., very reasonable for what you get. Sometimes I can split with my wife unless I'm really hungry. Be sure to get the cocktail sauce with horseradish, it's got quite a kick! If you can't go to the beach, get this dish at Tripp's.

Turkey cranberry sandwich was delicious!! Seated immediately at lunch time. Great service!

Have ate here many times use to be one of my favorite restaurants around went tonight for my Dads Birthday Dinner worse service I have ever received. Cheese Burger was raw when asked for well done, took it back and didn’t want to make it right, so he ended up not eating on his birthday somewhere he ENJOYED going definitely our last trip there. Our waitress Melany J was terrible, no refills and never at the table. Highly disappointed.

Food is presented quite well and taste great. This particular trip had me waiting a little longer for the food than expected, but otherwise it's great!

Friendly atmosphere. Made a reservation for 4 people, and had 2 more join us and the hostess wad very nice about it. We had 6 different dishes and all were very good. Server was great. Very Affordable.

This was my first time at Tripps. We had a Christmas gathering. I didn't get our servers name, but she and her partner were amazing. They were available at all times. They refilled drinks even without us asking. The orders were correct and the food was delicious. Everyone was super friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

My son and I had the taste for their spinach dip. Which is always my favorite dish. Delicious, but the chips served with dip had a enormous amount of grease soaking at the bottom. Also, I ordered ribs and shrimp. My ribs in each bite had hard pieces in each chew. The shrimp was soft as if it wasn't freshly fried. My son ordered double fries with his order. But only recieved 1 side of fries. Couldn't find our waitress.So I'll ask any employee of your establishment for a refill. Ketchup or whatever we needed. It wasn't busy to go missing for that long. She would pop out of no where as f she was close. She brought the bill. Without asking if we needed a separate bill. I won't return for a while Worst service EVER.

Shrimp Cocktail is a little mouthful of heaven. Chicken Cordon Blue is my always go to comfort food. Oh how I miss Tripp's in Winston Salem. Used to eat there back when it was T. K. Tripp's. But, we make the 50 min drive, one way, whenever possible to eat there. Can't say I'd drive almost an hour and a half to eat at Kick Back Jack's. Miss my Tripp's

This has been our favorite restaurant for years and it hasn't missed a beat. The food is always delicious and we never have a problem with our meals. The service is also top notch. There's a reason why I've never left a small tip at this place.

Me and my friend went for the first time it was very good and the staff was very friendly.

Restaurant was overwhelmed with customers, so service was slow. But food was freshly cooked and worth the wait. Generous portions at a reasonable price. Extensive gluten free menu

Jesus Christ in a pogo stick. Pardon the blasphemy, but they've got $16 slow roasted prime rib specials. They're a godsend for the hungry.Besides that... The food is great, and at decent prices. Nothing extraordinary, but nothing to complain about. The atmosphere is pretty chill and friendly American/Irish/Southern pub jive. Their bar area is wonderful for a Friday night pint and a Saturday dinner with the family.Service is friendly and timely. I do feel the restaurant is always slightly understaffed, and could use one or two more servers in the night shift, but besides some mild lateness, service is good.Highly recommend this place if you're staying at the Marriott across the street, or close by and willing to get some good deals, food, and atmosphere.

They used to have much better food. There's plenty of room for improvement.

Prime rib was overcooked. Crab cakes was more like deviled crab stuffing. Definitely not the same restaurant franchise from 10 years ago. No wonder they are so few left.

We always love going to Tripps. But after tonight we may never go again. We don't like sitting around the bar so when we were being seated over there we asked for another table. Apparently they didn't like it because the whole room was empty but they sat us next to a VERY LOUD birthday party . They were so loud and apparently very drunk we couldn't even hear each other talking. We finally just got to go boxes and left. Very disappointed! We live near Asheville so we drive a long way to eat there.

Had the grilled pork chop, was outstanding. Service was great, and good price. Would definitely eat here again when in Greensboro.

I don't know why restaurant always served the tail of the fish. Tail is worthless part of the fish!!!.. Good server but poor food!!!

Gluten free options available, although very limited. The lunch special I got was a salad and baked potato. Luckily the fully loaded options came on the side except the sour cream and butter. It was good if you like salty butter so ask for that on the side. The salad was much better than expected! The garden had almonds, bacon, delicious greens and I ordered the honey mustard which was creamy. For my first Tripp’s experience, it wasn’t bad. Much better than other chain restaurants.

I had the prime rib and the wife had ribs and shrimp. All was very good. The steamed potatoes were also so good. Seating was quick on a Saturday night, and so was the service. We really enjoyed it and plan on future visits.

The calamari appetizer is the style that has the heads and tentacles. Which is what I like. So they get extra points for that.

Petite filet was a joke, had bigger and better burgers. Salads are great. Service was good.. needs to step up the steaks

Sad sad experience at this restaurant. For starters my fiance and I ordered two glasses of wine at the bar while waiting on our table. The glasses we were drinking from were dirty. After we informed the bartender they were dirty, we were given much attitude. We finally were seated and talk about walking through food infested floors. We were sat at a booth were a party had been sitting. To watch the wait staff stuff used silverware in glasses, I had to take a long stare at my water. No way I can drink this. Long story short after eating our salads boxing up our meal to leave this filthy restaurant, we both went home and vomited during the night. Bad food, filthy environment, but our waitress was wonderful. Shame on you after we called back and you gave us your butt to kiss.

While Erin was very pleasant and attentive to us, I was very disappointed with the $17 salmon entree my son got. I'm not one to complain and try to get a free meal so it was hard to bite my tongue on this one. Guess when u live on the coast u should only eat seafood on the coast. The fish was way over cooked and had a terrible flavor. I don't recommend it AT ALL!! I Got the California salad and it was delicious. But the waiter walking through smoking a dab pen needs to smoke outside or get a new job!! WOW!!

Local bar/restaurant with dated decor, but excellent deals for their steaks!!! I enjoyed a prime rib, baked potato, salad and quality beer for around $23 dollars. The steak was delicious and the service excellent (thanks Sarah C). If you are looking for an old watering hole or a decent steak, Tripps is spot on!

We visited Tripps for the first time in about 10 years expecting a great meal. Things have changed though. While the service was great the meals were average. Nothing to complain about but just not the over the top food we remembered. So that's why the meh review.

I visited a few weeks ago. I haven't been here in years. My experience was just what I would expect for a customer oriented environment. There was an immediate acknowledgement when my guest and I walked through the door. The one and most important part of my experience was that the waitress stated her name. That rapport developed immediately! I believe her name was Kay (possibly since I didn't immediately review). She told us of drink specials which I did purchase. ($4 I believe Margarita). The food was absolutely spectacular! A lot to choose from. That oil based dip for the bread!!! Yummy!! At the end she and the front staff thanked us for coming. I believe this will be my favorite place to dine. I will be back! If I can figure out how to get to my camera roll I will share the pics. Thanks Tripps for a wonderful evening!

I was expecting a typical Irish pub styled restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the service and dishes they served. The kids, my wife and I enjoyed our food and the great service.

Food was delicious! Ordered a MR Ribeye and it was delicious. Elected to get french fries with it rather than the baked potato and they were perfect.

This is still one of my favorite restaurants. Overall food and service is pretty good. Most recently I went here to claim my free prime rib dinner that I won on Facebook. The prime rib was pretty good. It wasn't the best I ever had but as good as most places. The baked potato was cooked well and our drinks were good too. Service was pretty good as well. I've been here many times and usually the food is good. I like their steaks but their other food items are good as well.

I had never eaten here before but so glad I stopped in a had lunch. The Restraunt is very clean, the wait staff are great, very friendly and super nice. The food is exceptional, the pasta dish tasted so so good and the creamy spicy Alfredo sauce was rich and delicious. I will definitely come back here again and again and reference to my friends this is a must lunch place.

Went for my birthday..great food , everyone was friendly..they brought me a dessert for my birthday.

My husband just ordered a meal that only cost $19 and was charged $27. He asked the waitress to confirm the price and all she said was that it was the taxes. Since when do a restaurant charge 70% tax on a carryout order. When he checked the receipt it wasn't itemized, just one flat price. Tripps steal from their out of state customers. Will never go there again.

This is my "go to" place for special events and holidays. The food matches the customer service... AMAZING!!!

So so good!! Can you find any better crab cakes?!?! That lemon butter sauce is amazing! Everything is always fresh and thus has become my once a week spot! Staff is always friendly and efficiently is on point! Try it! You won't be sorry! Its where the locals eat!!
